Refill East Leeds Rural
Nestled in the Yorkshire countryside between Leeds and York East Leeds Rural is a collection of small towns and villages who are on a mission to clean up our environment and reduce single use plastic.
Going plastic free
The Refill East Leeds Rural scheme has been put together by a small group of local residents who have recently completed their first ‘Plastic Free July Challenge’. “In a beautiful rural area like ours it is horrible to see plastic pollution everywhere you turn” (Rachel, Refill volunteer). So we are teaming up with Yorkshire Water (and their scheme, Yorkshire on Tap), Selby District Council (and their Refill scheme Refill Selby), the local Parish Council, many local businesses and several community action groups to promote Refill and change the way people view water in our area. Here are a few of the local businesses who are already signed up.
If you’re looking to start a Refill Scheme, we’ve got a guide to help you get started.
What Can I Do?
This Refill Scheme is currently inactive. We would like to welcome anyone within the area who has an interest in restarting the scheme to contact us with any queries at [email protected]. We would love to hear from you so together we can help your community continue to power the Refill Revolution!
Getting involved is easy!
If you’ve got a great idea about getting involved in your local scheme, or you want to set up your own Refill Scheme, we’d love to have you on board.
