Refill Roundhay
Roundhay is a leafy suburb located in north Leeds, with a vibrant community of over 70,000 people. They have launched the Plastic Free Roundhay and the Refill Roundhay projects to form a strong movement of reducing plastic waste across the area – Welcome to Refill Roundhay.
Refill Roundhay – a tourist hotspot
Roundhay Park has over a million visitors a year. Roundhay park plays host to large sporting events, triathlons and music events. Including mega music events with musicians like the Rolling Stones, UB40, Madonna, Michael Jackson and Robbie Williams over the years. During the summer many people visit the park and plastic litter can be a real problem. By providing free water access points within the park and across the local area through businesses, we can work to reduce plastic waste.

Prevent Pointless Plastic
Along with the Refill Scheme, the Prevent Pointless Plastic campaign aims to reduce ‘pointless plastic’ (mainly single-use products), to therefore reducing the amount of waste generated in the town. Additionally, we hope it will inspire people and businesses to seek out re-usable products, re-use systems, and recycling.
