Refill St Albans
St Albans wants to be a more sustainable place for residents and visitors. Working with Plastic Free St Albans, the District Council, Affinity Water and the Business Improvement District we plan to get as many businesses as possible on board.
Refill St Albans – showing leadership
Refill St Albans has been launched by a partnership between Plastic Free St Albans, the District Council, Affinity Water and the Business Improvement District. We want all visitors and residents to have access to free drinking water when they need it, therefore saving money and preventing waste. We are keen to encourage businesses to take part and show leadership in reducing the unnecessary waste and other environmental impacts associated with single use plastic bottles so that we can make St Albans a more sustainable place for residents and visitors.
Registering as a Refill Station in St Albans is easy! All you need to do is register on the Refill app, display the Refill sticker in your business window and let the world know that they can ask for a water refill expecting a warm welcome. To get signs and stickers you can reach out to the District Council Offices reception or email [email protected].
If you’re looking to start a Refill Scheme, we’ve got a guide to help you get started.
New Refill Stations
The Refill Partnership has sponsored the installation of two water Refill Stations in the town centre. You can find the fountains at the running track in Verulamium Park, and in Clarence Park. Sandridge Parish Council is also in the process of installing a fountain in their area.
We’re always on the lookout for volunteers to go and speak to businesses about joining the scheme. If you would like to get in touch with the Refill St Albans partnership please contact us on [email protected].
Getting involved is easy!
If you’ve got a great idea about getting involved in your local scheme, or you want to set up your own Refill Scheme, we’d love to have you on board.
